This afternoon, the Minnesota House Commerce Committee will hear a bill on contraception access.
Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians President Glenn Nemec, MD, submitted the following to the committee for review.
On behalf of its 3,100+ family physician members, the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians strongly supports patient access to all FDA-approved contraception at no out-of-pocket cost to the patient.
Family physicians strive to provide quality care for our patients at all stages of their lives. Access to preventative care, including contraception, is critical to that effort.
Nearly 9 in 10 women will utilize contraception in their lifetime. All people deserve access to contraception in order to make their own informed family-planning decisions, in counsel with their physician or healthcare provider.
Please support HF 963 to maintain this important access for our patients.
